Double Black Label Vs Jack Daniels
Jack Daniel's Green Label
Double Black can arguably been seen in a similar light to a distiller’s edition of a single malt, specifically those offered by fellow Diageo whiskies Lagavulin and Talisker. (Perhaps it would be more appropriate to refer to this as a blender’s edition, though fans of Blue Label may take offense.). Jack Daniel's Black Label Tennessee Whiskey remains the flagship product of Brown–Forman Corporation. During the fiscal year ended April 30, 2017, the product had sales of 12.5 million cases. Underlying net sales for the Jack Daniel's brand grew by 3% (−1% on a reported basis). Historically speaking, the black label Jack Daniel’s was produced at 90 US proof, or about 45% ABV or alcohol by volume. The Old No.7 (green label variety) was at 80 US proof or 40% ABV. By 1987, the black label was reduced to 86 proof which is roughly equivalent to 43% ABV. The Tennessee Honey is 70 US proof and has a 35% ABV. Accounting for almost 96% of Jack Daniel’s annual whiskey sales, the Black Label brand is the #1 selling whiskey in the world with over 150 million bottles sold worldwide every year. Gentleman Jack The year 1988 was an exciting one for the Jack Daniel Distillery as it was the first time in decades that a new brand of whiskey was introduced. Jack Daniel's Black Label (also known as Old No. 7 or more commonly as JD or simply Jack) is one of the best selling whiskeys in the world. It is the signature brand that defines Tennessee whiskey and is easily distinguishable from every other whiskey produced today.
